Mason bees are local bees that are metallic blue.
They are pretty friendly bees. Males do not have a stinger and females only sting if squeezed. They do not work in a hive or make honey like honeybees, but they do pollinate your backyard flowers and plants. Make a “mason bee home” to invite these bees to your neighborhood.
